Assessment Process

The school follows the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation as prescribed by Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi.

Assessments are divided into two parts namely Formative and Summative.

The School will provide these assessment reports four times in an academic year.

For classes LKG, UKG, I and II only four formative assessments are conducted with a weightage of 25% each in the final report.

For classes III onwards the Weightage is as under:

Ist Formative Assessment      – 5% weight age in the final report

2nd Formative Assessment    – 5% weight age in the final report

1st Summative Assessment    – 40% weight age in the final report

3rd Formative assessment     – 5% weight age in the final report

4th Formative assessment     – 5% weight age in the final report

2nd Summative Assessment – 40% weight age in the Final Report

Admissions to Class XI and allotment of Streams and Subjects are done on the basis of CCE grades / Board Examination grades of Class X. All students intending to join Class XI must seek fresh admissions.

FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT:
Recapitulation tests are conducted on Sundays and Thursdays from 7.30 a.m. to 8.10 a.m. to test student’s skills in reading, writing, comprehension, listening, grammar, conservation, spelling, logical thinking, etc. besides understanding application of concepts and retention of information. Written work/assignments, projects, power points, viva, practical skills, quizzing, interviewing, group activities and discussions, surveys, public speaking, ASL (Assessment of Speaking & Listening Skills), portfolios, report analytics, critical & creative thinking etc. form a part of formative assessment.


GRADING SYSTEM

Students are assessed on nine point scale as under

It is compulsory to appear for all the assessments, periodic tests and examinations. Absentees will be marked zero. Academy does not follow the system of retest.
Each students must attain at least C2 grade in each subject in order to be promoted to the next class.

Kindly note that:-
i.The School has the discretion to change the promotion criteria at any time.
ii.The School’s decision shall be final and binding.

Problem solving assessment will be conducted for classes IX and XI in the month of February. The s=Score will be counted as the FA4 grades and students will be awarded with a special Certificate from CBSE. OTBA (Open Text Based Assessment) is introduced by CBSE for class IX and Class XI from the academics year 2013. it will be conducted along with summative examination. (OTBA is for all subjects in Class IX and is introduced only for Biology & Economics in Class XI).


SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT:

Formal pen and paper tests are termed as Summative Assessment. Independent and flawless expression in English, imagination, logical and creative thinking, clarity and application of various concepts and High Thinking Order skills form the core of this part of assessment.

Besides this, general curriculum children take PSA(Problem Solving Assessment) and OTBA(Open Text Book Assessment). CBSE International children take on-line PAT (Performance Analysis Test).

SCHEME OF STUDIES FOR CLASSES 10 & 12:

Class 12 will have First Formative, Second Formative and First Summative as per the school’s schedule. Then classes 10 and 12 will start with split tests in which the whole course of the class will be divided into 3 parts and for each subject 3 split tests will be held. Then there will be a rehearsal exam in full course and last of all, the Pre-Board Examination. For Final Exams, the school will follow CBSE date sheet.
